The Fearless Girl Statue

Transcript

The Fearless Girl. She's small, but she stands her ground. The Fearless Girl first appeared in New York City on March 7th, 2017, facing the famous Charging Bull statue by Italian-American artist Arturo Di Modica.

She was commissioned by State Street Global Advisors, one of the world's largest asset managers, to highlight the need for more women in corporate leadership. Sculpted by Kristen Visbal, the statue quickly became a global symbol of female strength and resilience. With her chin raised and hands on her hips, Fearless Girl represented more than just finance, she captured a cultural shift toward gender equality.

Originally meant as a temporary installation for International Women's Day, public support helped keep her in place. After legal disputes with Demotica, she was relocated in 2018 to face the New York Stock Exchange, where she stands today.
